Choices and Consequences

As the sun went to hide behind the mountains, birds sang their songs on their way to their nests to hide. My heart broke into pieces. I tried to collect the pieces and patch them but flashbacks couldn’t let go of me. To ignore them I listened to regae music but the lyrics brought back what I was trying to forget. When darkness takes over the day it would also take over my heart. To keep the lights on I’d watch T.V all night. My beautiful wife thought that I was cheating on her, because I couldn’t share the bed with her anymore. The reason was that my mind would be in another country yet my body was right next to her, so she filed a divorce.

All this began after we had our first born son, as we tried to be honest to each other as best as we could. She is the one who brought my life right around . I was a dead man walking before we met, I slept wherever the night caught me, no job, no food and no house. I worked for money to buy alcohols but when she saw me, she saw intelligence through my eyes only a pity that she didn’t see the cruelty and cowardness. She gave me a home and supported me through the journey of getting back on my feet. We became friends and after 14 months a couple and then eventually got married. Now I own a supermarket which is already falling apart.
When I met with her, it was right after I was released from jail, after serving 20 years for murder, kidnapping and house breaking. She knew about this but never judged me. Only to find out after 5 years in our marriage when our son came on earth that she is the girl me and my friends killed her parents because his father couldn’t open the safe and give us money. A very big-headed stubborn man, we cut his legs but still he didn’t give us money. His wife tried to beg him to give us the money but he didn’t, he said, “this is my daughter’s future, you’d rather kill me for that!”. We decided to kill him and his wife and then leave with the safe. Before we left I saw Lisa hiding under the bed, I got her out of the bed and shot her 12 times thinking she’d point us. A very brave kid who didnt even cry seeing his parents get killed.
I don’t know whether I should say fortunately or unfortunately but she made it and woke up on comma. When she explained to me how much she struggled after losing her parents and got shot 12 times on her body, I could tell she still had too much anger. After we killed her parents she was adopted by her uncle who raped her many times and that uncle got arrested and happened to be my cell-mate and my friend.
I remember growing up, my grandmother used to say, “every choice you make in life will come back to bite you or rescue you somehow and Sometime”. I guess that was true and is still true, because I got haunted by things I chose to do when I was still a teenager.

Now that I am burning non-stop in my grave, I wish I could go back and apologies but unfortunately I can’t because I am no more. I committed suicide. What was I going to tell my wife? That I killed her parents and shot her 12 times?

Story of: http://yourstoryclub.com/short-stories-family/family-short-story-choices-and-consequences/

In this short story the characters appear to do a lot of crazy decisions without thinking. The main character, and also the one that tells the story muder, kidnapped, and brake house, but in consequence he is in jail for 20 years. He don't learn nothing, taking into a count that he killed two people since they don't give him money, and then shot 12 times a girl.
You can learn of your errors, but this story shows that you can also NOT LEARN.

  • Discuss your progress, discoveries and set backs.
  • I make a brief summary of the story and went to the simple idea of the short story.
  • What have you learned about your topic?
  • Not all people learn of their errors.
  • What have you learned about yourself?
  • That you can choose to learn or not to learn of your errors.
  • Where do you go from here?
  • Next week I would do the same.

Situation 2

In three weeks time, you have a big presentation to a long-hoped-for new client.

Three weeks is plenty of time, though, so each day you sit down at your computer and, instead of working on your presentation, play game after game of Desktop Tower Defense. Three weeks and a day later, you’re clearing out your desk after being let go for failing to get that big wished-for client.

In this new situation the person decides to let pass a opportunity that could change the person's life, by doing another things that don't take to any kind of success.

You can choose your actions,
or you can choose your consequences,
 but you can’t choose both.

  • Discuss your progress, discoveries and set backs.
I progress in the analysis I do in each situation.

  • What have you learned about your topic?
As in the other post, I learned new situations.

  • What have you learned about yourself?
I learned how to not commit the same error as that person.

  • Where do you go from here?
Next week I would do another situation or maybe I write a situation.

Situation 1

It’s the night before the Big Exam.

For weeks you’ve been skipping class or, when you did show up, wiling away your classroom hours by texting back-and-forth with your friends.
Now, with imminent failure facing you, you decide to go blow off steam with your friends. Hung-over and unprepared, of course you fail the Big Exam.
Which means you fail the class and, since your GPA has slipped to an unacceptable level, you lose your athletic scholarship.

Choosing not to face a person's responsibilities lead a persons to failure. In this situation, skipping class and decide to not study lead the person to fail the big exam and the course.

You can choose your actions,
or you can choose your consequences,
 but you can’t choose both.

  • Discuss your progress, discoveries and set backs.
I actually thought to do stories and situations because then I can discovered new choices.

  • What have you learned about your topic?
I learned new situations.

  • What have you learned about yourself?
I learned how to not commit the same error as that person.

  • Where do you go from here?
Next week I would do another situation.

Story 1.

Five wise men got lost in the forest.

The first one said:

- I will go left – my intuition tells me that.

The second one said:
- I will go right – there is a reason why right comes from the word rightness.
The third one said:
- I will go back – we came from there, it means I will go out from the forest.
The fourth one said:
- I will go straight – we should move forward, the forest will end and something new will open.
The fifth said:
- You are all wrong. There is a better solution. Wait for me.

He found the tallest tree and climbed into it. While he was climbing everyone else scattered towards their own sides. From above he saw where they should go to leave the forest faster. Now he could even see in what order the other wise men will reach the end of the forest. He climbed higher and saw the shortest way.
He understood the problem and found the best solution! He knew that he did everything right. And the others were wrong. They were stubborn and they didn’t listen to him. He was the real Wise Man!
But he was wrong.
Everyone was right. The one who went left, found himself in the thicket. He had to starve and fight with wild animals. But he learned how to survive in the forest; he became a part of the forest and could teach others the same.
The one who went right, met thieves. They took everything from him and made him steal with them. But after some time, he had woken up something in those thieves that they have forgotten – humanity and compassion. The remorse was so strong in some of them, that after his death they also became the wise men.
The one who went back, made a pathway through the forest, which soon became a road for those who wanted to walk in the forest without being afraid of getting lost.
The one who went straight, became a pioneer. He visited the places where no one else was and opened wonderful new possibilities for people, amazing healing plants and magnificent animals.
The one who climbed into the tree, became a specialist of finding short ways. People turned to him when they wanted to find the fastest way to deal with their problems, even if it didn't lead to any development.

This is how the five wise men reached their destiny.

In this story the five men show how choosing different paths make them reach different destinies. Most people do things without thinking, and without being aware of the consequences on their acts. The five men of the story make a choice and  risk themselves. Maybe the decision they are taking is not the most appropriate or perhaps  leads them to failure. They decide to do what they think is correct, and have different consequences.

  • What have you learned about yourself?
  • Where do you go from here?
-I discovered knew stories that are going to help me do this blog, and learn more choices and consequences. I didn't progress because this is my first post.
-I learn about my topic that not all consequences are bad consequences, but also good consequences that can lead you to success.
-That I 'm able to learn knew things about life by reading this type of stories.
-Next post would be of another story, but in this case it would be a story that would lead to a bad consequence.

We are humans.
Humans commit errors.
Errors help us learn.
Sometimes making wrong decisions can lead to rough situations,
in which you need to accept and confront your problems.
Consequences.
